Sheila Jackson (D), Texas, has always been a whack job but you would think she would at least know and understand how interact with her constituents. During a recent town hall meeting Congresswoman Jackson answered the phone while being asked a question. Now, unless you hang-up the phone and follow it with, "I'm sorry my son/daughter/grandson... was in an accident/hospital/cow's mouth ..." then there really is no excuse. How does this woman ever get elected showing such disrespect?

The perception of the public has long been that our elected officials have nothing but contempt for the people they SERVE and Congresswoman Jackson's actions only solidify that thought in people's mind.

Now this moron has added fuel to the fire of the anti-reform crowd by ignoring, what I thought to be, a pretty easy question. "If congresses conscious allows them to proceed in the direction of doing things simply because you believe it's good for America then we're on a path to tyranny, and when does it stop." Well, that is congress' job; To act to the benefit of the people of the United States so that they may partake in "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness."

Oops, um I've just been told the Britain is part of the U.K. It's a good thing he isn't treated by their unive... Okay, so I guess he's the exception that proves the rule.

Birthers Unite!

Apparently there are a couple more congressmen signing on to the "birthers" bill that is trying to be pushed through congress by Ted Poe (R), Texas. Poe is quick to point out that he "never said” Obama was born “anywhere but the United States" but he just wants to make sure that there is no question like this in the future. And I agree.

I would also like for congressmen who are against gay marriage to prove that they have never participated as a "catcher" in a homosexual gang-bang with House staffers. I'm not saying Ted Poe has been loaded from the backside with more se[a]men than an air-craft carrier, I'm just saying that we should clear this up in future so there is no question.

There really is nothing that will satisfy the brithers and I'm personally glad there is a such a large number of righ-wingers who now consider themselves "birthers." In reality, if they were doing something with a tangible end they may be dangerous.

Some people over at RedState.com are very proud. They seem to be taking great pride in the fact that one of the brothers-in-arms "satirical" article made it to Snopes.com. And I'd have to agree, if you can get you detractors to believe idiotic statements you've really done something.

The problem of course, is that it wasn't the detractors who were fooled, but their own mindless followers.

Gay Marriage Strikes Again

To listen to those in the Republican party you'd think the only thing wrong with marriage in America is that gays want to take part in the "fun."

Apparently even the prospect of gay marriage has taken another victim. Gov. Sanford of South Carolina crumbled under the pressure of (other peoples) gay love and had an affair.

Of course, this is not funny, this is a conspiracy by the left-wing media. Just look at what was said on sanford2012.org

Well, thanks to the invasive media, starting today he is back at work in Columbia. So where has he been hiding? I’ll let the government-run media fight over which trails he was at. But don’t believe for a second that his wife and other VIP’s didn’t know where he was. Quite simply, he left for a few days to clear his head. He did this without taking his private security detail, which you and I pay for. Because of this no one really wanted to tell the media where he actually was. They knew - but they were smart enough to not give it away.

As it now appears that we are one of the most highly-trafficed [sic] Mark Sanford 2012 sites, I thought that I should at least weigh-in on this non-issue. But so many other people have covered this story so well that I don’t have a ton to add. First, we need to be clear on the facts — not the media speculation:

Sanford did tell his staff and family where he was going.
Because he was traveling without a security detail, it was in his best interests that no one knew he was gone.
His political enemies — Republicans at that — ginned up the media story.
When confronted by a pestering media, things went downhill.
Again though, at all times there was no doubt that Sanford’s staff and family knew where he was.
Now, here is all you need to know about this whole entire story — the reaction from the erstwhile Republicans angry at Sanford for not being a fiscal squish and from the media all go back to their core belief that without Sanford manning the barricades of government at all times, the government will collapse and people will starve, die, and forget how to read and write.

That’s it.

But that did not happen. Life in South Carolina went on. The world did not end. Government did not go off the rails. That the media and politicians would react as they did says more about their world view than anything else.

It is refreshing that Mark Sanford is secure enough in himself and the people of South Carolina that he does not view himself as an indispensable man.

Of course, I'd expect these people to take these posts down soon and replace them with some drivel about Bill Clinton, but I don't remember Clinton telling us we are all evil people destroying the sanctity of marriage with gayness.

Personally, it sounded like some dude down in Argentina stringing along a perverted guy from 4,000 miles for money. Then when Mr. Sanford actually wants to get away from his horrible life and make a new one, whoops she's a dude. Why else would you not tell someone where you're going.

This is a bit late, but well worth the wait. Politicians get their jobs by exploiting and exaggerating but sometimes you get one or two that go way out of the realm of believability.

Anyone who takes time to read political blogs are probably pretty aware of what is going on in Iran. Protesters are being shot in the street and there are threats of "more ruthless" things to come from the "leaders" of Iran.

Of course Republicans want us to know that the Iranians are not the only ones being trampled by their government; from the Twitter on the interwebs:

Bush came out fighting today. Defending his actions during the "war on terror" and swiping at Obama's plan to jumpstart the economy (which is odd since it's the same as Mr. Bush's policies).

In this address Pres. Bush stated firmly a main tenant of belief of those on the right "Government does not create wealth." And I say three cheers for Mr. Bush. Hip-hip-HORAY! Hip-Hip-HORAY!

Wait a minute. What if the government could create wealth? I've just had an ingenious idea. I could by a minority interest in a professional baseball team, ask my politically connected friends to have the government seize land, have the tax payers build me a building, get tax breaks to conduct my business and then raise taxes to pay for it all!! Yeah, that will build me a lot of wealth. Has that ever been done before?

Whose housing boom (and bust)?

There is plenty of blame to go around for the housing boom and bust. And before you "but what about Dodd/Frank/Raines" people get started; I agree that they should all be investigated and tried if necessary.

However, the current on-going nuttery surrounding the blame game is out of hand. I thought this was over but for some reason it has reared it's ignorant head on The Sean Hannity Show radio program.

According to Sean "stop blaming Bush after 4 months" Hannity, the whole problem was started by Jimmy "out of office for 28 years" Carter and made worse by Bill "out of office for 8 years" Clinton. As Sean likes to say "let not your heart be troubled," there is no reason for facts to get in his way.

We could brush aside the 20 years of Republican Presidents, 14 years of Republican congress and 6 years simultaneous control, but can we brush aside the Bush team's insistence that they did it all? Of course I'm not saying that Bush said he was responsible for the "bust" just the "boom." And can he have one without the other?

The pundits are correct that the boom caused the bust and that the boom was caused by politicians but it was caused by BOTH parties.

Always to be one to let the truth bend itself (if he's not going to be around to bend it himself that is) Rush signed off today's broadcast with the revelation that dealerships closing are politically motivated. Nothing is really new in the whining there.

However, Rush's sign-off tried to add authority where there was none. After gaspingly declaring the Barney Frank is demanding to know how the decisions are being made. Rush did note that Chrysler stated it was company algorithms that chose which dealerships to close.

But Rush has the ultimate authority on the truth for this story: "Lawyers for the dealerships say it is the White House who is making the decisions. Ask the White House Mr. Frank."

Seriously? The lawyers for the people who are, rightly so, upset for losing their business were given inside information.

Of course, Rush himself has a very low opinion of his audience's intelligence so it's no surprise he would leave this little gem out there to take over the weekend. He knows that before Saturday night legions of "dittoheads" will be quoting this as fact.

Overall, 88 percent of the contributions from car dealers went to Republican candidates and just 12 percent to Democratic candidates. By comparison, the list of dealers on Doug Ross's list (which I haven't vetted, but I assume is fine) gave 92 percent of their money to Republicans -- not really a significant difference.

There's no conspiracy here, folks -- just some bad math.

Before being helped back from the ledge by his obviously smarter producer, Glenn was criticizing Pres. Obama for quoting Supreme Court Cheif Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes.

Why you ask?

Apparently Holmes supported eugenics. Of course I don't remember Obama supporting that portion of Cheif Justice Holmes' beliefs but I guess if you don't support one portion of a persons beliefs you can't support any of them.

We could make a list of all those that Glenn Beck should stop quoting, but maybe we could skip right to the big one. Glenn should drop out of the Mormon Church. Unless of course he supports the actions and ideas of the early Mormon "Prophets."
